Suraj Damodaran got his PhD (Robotics and Control) from National Institute of Technology Calicut, Kerala, India in 2020. He has received M.Tech. degree (2009) in Electrical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Calicut and B.Tech. degree in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation from the College of Engineering Trivandrum, Kerala, India. He has served as an Adhoc Lecturer with the National Institute of Technology (2009-2010, 2019-2020), Assistant Professor at the Vidya Academy of Science and Technology (2010-2013), Associate Professor in the Electronics & Communication Engineering Department at Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering & Technology Kalady and Associate Professor in the Mechatronics Engineering Department at Jyothi Engineering College, Cheruthuruthy. Since 2022 November, he is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Instrumentation of CUSAT. He had more than six years of teaching experience. He got a GATE percentile score of 98.1 in the year 2007 and has international journal publications (SCIE indexed) and international conference publications in his credit. He has served as a potential reviewer for IEEE, Sage journals and several prestigious international conferences. He has been a TPC member of several IEEE international conferences. He has attended several international conferences/workshops at IITs/NITs. His main research interests include the application of Control Theory to Robotic Systems, Model-Order Reduction, Genetic Algorithms, Model-Matching Control, and Fractional-Order Control. He is a member of The Robotics Society, India.
